We believe it's important to know where your purchases come from. If you do too, read on . . .
Coconut Shop was set up in 2006 and is run by husband and wife team, Rachel and Mu. Our jewellery comes from Mu's native Thailand and is handmade by his nephew, Kio. Constantly coming up with new ideas and ingenious designs for what is essentially a bi-product of everyday cooking, over the years Kio has become a master craftsman of the humble coconut.

If you are ever lucky enough to find yourself on the island of Koh Tao, Thailand, do go and see Kio in his shop.

Our homewares are sourced from two small initiatives in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Phatthalung, Thailand, aimed at providing skilled employment within the local community. In Nakhon Si Thammarat the project has been established to help local disabled people who would otherwise have had very limited employment opportunities.

In Phatthalung the project is part of Thailand's OTOP 'One Tambon One Product' scheme aimed at developing local industry at 'tambon' (or village) level.
